Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop is located in Jerry’s Nugget Casino, a little north of the Strip just off of North 5th Street. It offers up more affordable meals than those usually found on the Strip in a 1960s themed diner environment. Though it’s not as pricey, it still offers up good traditional American style meals in hearty portions and is open 24 hours a day.
The menu boasts 140 entrees, covering pretty much everything you can possibly think of in American diner and Mexican food. If you’re a little overwhelmed and not sure what to get, the steaks here are a pretty safe bet – very good quality at a reasonable price. The $9.89 steak and shrimp dinner special is one of the better deals under $10 on the Strip. This will surely leave you with enough change to go and spend at www.cancasinos.ca.
The other highlight here is a wide range of desserts – cakes, pies and cheesecakes. Eating in is a little pricey at $4.50 per slice for each dessert, but you can get whole pies to go for $15 which gives you seven slices at less than two dollars a pop. Whole cakes start at $30 and can be customized for parties and special occasions.
Since this is a casino eatery, you can use comp dollars here if you’re signed up for a player’s card at Jerry’s Nugget. Free or discounted meal promotions are also sometimes offered with casino play. Military on active duty can get a 15% discount at any time.
Jerry’s Nugget celebrates its 50th anniversary at the end of 2013, but has also seen some financial trouble in the past couple of years. With a fresh investment loan coming through recently, however, this classic coffee shop of the strip should still be around for quite some time.
